Carl Lavery teaches in the school of cultural and creative arts at the University of Glasgow. He has published widely in the fields of ecology, environment and place, and he is currently finishing a book Performing Location/Practising Ecology for Manchester University Press, and making a series of performances about Hashima Island, in Japan. His own performance practice is based on walking and writing. For the next 6 months, he will be working on 2 AHRC funded projects exploring sustainability, sense-making, and performance, and reflecting on how we might perform a remembered future, a future of ruins.
Mae Carl Lavery yn addysgu ym Mhrifysgol Glasgow. Mae wedi cyhoeddi’n eang ym meysydd ecoleg, yr amgylchedd a lleoliad, ac ar hyn o bryd mae’n gorffen llyfr Performing Location/Practising Ecology i Wasg Prifysgol Manceinion, ac yn creu cyfres o berfformiadau am Ynys Hashima, yn Siapan. Mae ei ymarfer perfformio ei hun wedi seilio ar gerdded ac ysgrifennu. Am y 6 mis nesaf, bydd yn gweithio ar 2 brosiect wedi ariannu gan AHRC sy’n archwilio cynaliadwyedd, gwneud synnwyr, a pherfformiad, ac yn adlewyrchu ar sut gallwn berfformio dyfodol sy’n cael ei gofio, dyfodol sy’n mynd i ddistryw.
